A lobbying group representing homeowners associations (HOAs) across the United States recently met on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. to oppose H.R. 1094/S. 459, the Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act.

Community Associations Institute (CAI) announced a number of federal priorities that the organization is interested in. Among them is the opposition of the Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act, stating the act “…would restrict the ability of community associations to require prior approval of amateur radio infrastructure.”

CAI’s press release outlines additional priorities including the Protect Our Homes Act and the Corporate Transparency Act.

Amateur radio operators are encouraged to contact their elected representatives in support of the Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act. Additional information is available from the ARRL.
